Temperate climates are those without extremes of temperature and precipitation (rain and snow). The changes between summer and winter are generally invigorating without being frustratingly extreme. There are two types of temperate climate: maritime and continental. The maritime climate is strongly influenced by the oceans, which maintain fairly steady temperatures across the seasons. Since the prevailing winds are westerly in the temperate zones, the western edge of continents in these areas experience most commonly the maritime climate. Such regions include Western Europe, in particular the UK, and western North America at latitudes between 40 and 60° north.
Continentality increases inland, with warmer summers and colder winters as the effect of land on heat receipt and loss increases. This is particularly true in North America, where the north-south aligned Rocky Mountains act as a climate barrier to the mild maritime air blowing from the west. Maritime climate, on the other hand, penetrates further into Europe where the major mountain range – the Alps – is orientated east-west.

Temperate oceans are located in the Arctic Circle to the Tropic of Cancer and from the Tropic of Capricorn to the Antarctic Circle. The following link has a lot of information
which you should be able to pull information from regarding plant life within the different ocean areas …
http://www.gma.org/herring/biology/distribution/comparing_oceans.asp **It also has a world map for you to see where tropical/temperate/polar oceans are located.
I also found this website (http://www.mos.org/oceans/planet/index.html) helpful in providing basic ocean features. The primary difference for the regions being the average temperature and the animals found.

In most cases, if more than a handful of people say something about you and it is the same thing.. then it must be true. Sometimes the opinions of others actually do have a truth to them, so because you think you are this way does not mean you are in no way the other. If you cannot see why they would call you two faced, you are only being coy and ignorant to what you have been doing. Why don’t you ask them why they think so instead of asking people on yahoo answers.. they actually spent time with you.

As a Gemini your sign is that of twins. Therefore, you are of two minds.
I think they are confusing you with Capricorn. This sign straddles the change of the year, Janus (January) was a Roman God ot Transitions and changes. Older depictions of this god show one face looking left and the other looking right, making the image “two-faced”.
However, Geminis will take a stand, voice an opinion, decide on an option and then completely change their mind tomorrow. It is about education and knowledge. You make a decision based on what you know, then tomorrow you find new information that changes your mind. Some may find that facet of a Geminis personality somewhat two faced, but it’s not, it’s about making the correct decision about choices you make in your life.
It’s all about perception and understanding the meanings and background of the signs. Hope this little tidbit helps. Good luck.
