Is Astrology socially acceptable where you live?
If not, how do you try to maintain your interest in it? Do you have anyone you can share it with?
And last but not least, what are the consequences of openly admitting your interest in it?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Answer by Tender Heart
Yes, widely accepted.

I wouldn’t say it’s socially unacceptable, people here just don’t know what it is.
The only people in my school who I think are really into it are my friends who would hang around me while I was studying it.
Without internet, I don’t know how I’d maintain my knowledge and interest.
Answer by lala
Yes very much so
Answer by Carol
My family basically disowned me because of it, except for my mother and brother. Since then I’m very private about it.
Edit: Oh…maintaining knowledge and interest; I read and re-read books. I’m actually waiting for a few books to arrive from Amazon now. Then I’ll probably disappear from Y!A for a few weeks, until I run out of stuff to read.

It’s not really socially acceptable where I live now. I used to live on the east coast, and it was widely known in my community there, and I was sought out by my colleagues for readings. Here, were I deal with people from people from all over the US and the world, there is actually very little acceptance of such. It’s considered “flaky”. But I’m still popular inside my group of friends and get plenty of practice.
Sometimes I don’t maintain my interest at all. When I read something from some supposed expert that doesn’t live up to my standards, I get pretty disgusted. But I ride it out…eventually my curiosity gets the better of me and I start looking for answers again.
Consequences? Sometimes if I mention my hobby in front of people they look at me funny and I can see “flake” on their foreheads.
But I don’t dwell on it, nor do I keep yapping on about it. Eventually someone will come to me privately and begin asking me questions. If one person asks me to do a reading, eventually, I’m doing several.

Are there any serious, totally free, online daily Astrology sites that require no registration to use?
Where can I find such a site?
Anyone have an address?

Are you SERIOUS? You believe in ASTROLOGY?
Answer by Merlin’s Feline
Serious and astrology are oxymorons. Astrology is a pseudoscience that depends on extended cold reading to fool “consumers ” . Recent studies have show instances where participants in astrological readings were sent the SAME horoscope and futurecast, irrespective of their birthdates. The guinea pigs responded that in 80% of the cases their “reading ” was a good representation of their lifestyle, desires, etc . Explain how the SAME exact wording for people born under “different signs ” can be obtained ? Of course there is always so much ambiguity in the verbeage that anyone can glean something that appears to relate to them. Do you believe in the tooth fairy too ?

I have a daily horoscope app on my MySpace called “Daily Horoscope Plus+” from Tarot.com. They have free horoscopes posted on their site daily.
dailystars.com has a free daily horoscope as well, with a kind of rating system for things like your stress level, energy level, love level, what your best sign compatibility for love is at the present, etc.
And, heck, why not check out www.horoscope.com? They have ’em there as well (go figure, huh?)
Actually, if you do a Yahoo or Google search on “free daily horoscopes”, you’ll find many resources you might find interesting.
However, if you think this will tell you the future and/or what your next step in life should be, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. They’re fun and they can be uncanny at times, but like my MySpace app, some horoscopes can get it wrong an awful lot.
I have found that most the descriptions of people under certain signs are pretty accurate, whether it’s very ironic luck or there’s something to it, I’m not sure.

Tarot.com has a good one. You CAN register, but you don’t have to.
there’s also msn.com and yahoo.com both have horoscopes (that’s what they call it).
Answer by Witchy Mel
Yeah, tarot.com is my favorite, astrocenter is pretty good too.
To those who decided to ramble on about whether astrology is real or not…that isn’t the question being asked.
