How are horoscopes actually determined?
I don’t believe in horoscopes. I believe I make my own path. I have checked out yahoo horoscopes for about 5 years now. They are right about my life choices in the regular zodiacs and chinese zodiacs even more so. I am asking this question because I want to know how they know so accurately my life. I am not reading into them or anything and it isn’t as vague as you would believe it would have to be. I can live for like two days with no desire to clean and then I clean my house and go on yahoo horoscopes and it will say you are going to clean your house today, lol. Sounds weird…Anybody know where they are getting these horoscopes from?

Haha I wonder that too sometimes, but some things are better left unknown.

Astrologists write random stuff that pops in their heads. When people ask for their futures to be told the Asstrologer guy makes a blind pick of possible futures.
By the way your Horoscope is
You will fall in a pile of Horse manure today.

every planet, every day, goes through a different zodiac constellation. For example, one day Venus might be in Cancer, making all Cancer people feel beautiful for that day (because Venus controls the beauty, love, etc) Or Jupiter might be in Aries, being the planet of luck, giving a certain amount of luck to Aries people. Since horoscopes are only based on sun signs, they are not very reliable. I believe in astrology, but I think horoscopes are bullsh*t.
You have a LOT more things that control your luck, etc.
Such as the 12 houses, the planets, the asteroids, etc.

They are simply made up. How can one choose out of the thousands online and in print?
Here is how one person did it:
The American conjuror James Randi recounts in his book Flim Flam how as a young man he briefly got the astrology job on a Montreal newspaper, making up the horoscopes under the name Zo-ran. His method was to cut out the forecasts from old astrology magazines, shuffle them in a hat, distribute them at random among the 12 zodiacal signs and print the results. This was very successful of course (because all astrology works on the “Barnum principle” of saying things so vague and general that all readers think it applies to them.) He describes how he overheard in a cafe a pair of office workers eagerly scanning Zo-ran’s column in the paper. “They squealed with delight on seeing their future so well laid out, and in response to my query said that Zo-ran had been ‘right smack on’ last week. I did not identify myself as Zo-ran… Reaction in the mail to the column had been quite interesting, too, and sufficient for me to decide that many people will accept and rationalise almost any pronouncement made by someone they believe to be an authority with mystic powers. At this point, Zo-ran hung up his scissors, put away the paste pot, and went out of business.””

unless they actually are made up, which many horoscopes you find in magazines are, they make predictions based on transits. i’m not sure how exactly they can expect accuracy when it’s only based on sun signs and it’s really impossible to know what is going to conjunct or oppose or square or trine or what without knowing the degree of the sun sign, at least. so my theory is that, whatever they base their predictions on say… sun 15 degrees virgo… that you happen to have that and it’s accurate for you. they are never accurate for me
