um, I did some research and people (well, Americans) didn’t even know what a horoscope was. Let us fly back to 1720…

Me: like oh mah gawd, Isaac, my horoscope says today i shall meet my true loveee!!!
Isaac Newton: I’m sorry, but I have no idea what you are talking about. Who are you, and for pete’s sake what are you wearing, child!?
*Back to present time*
You see..?? K well i hope i helped

You’ll have to do some research on this yourself, but I’ll give you some places to start. I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for, and I’ll be more precise if you are. You can write me privately, if you wish.
The 17th century is the 1600s not the 1700s. The best source in English for astrology in formation in the17th century is William Lilly’s book “Christian Astrology.” No one is certain why he named it that – Christ isn’t mentioned once. It was written in 1647 and I think it is available online for free. It’s some 800 or so pages in length.
Again in English you may wish to Google the following names: John Gadbury, Nicholas Culpeper, and George Wharton, in addition to William Lilly.
The other major astrologer in the 17th century is the Frenchman Jean Baptiste Morin deVillefranche. His major work “Astrologia Gallica” (French Astrology) published in Latin in 1656. It is an 800+ page work consisting of 26 “books.” Fewer than half have been translated into English, but they are available from the American Federation of Astrologers.
If by mistake you meant the 1700s, there is less to choose from. Astrology took a nosedive in popularity in the 18th century and there isn’t too much available online or otherwise. Look for books by and information on John Partridge (1644 – c 1714) and Ebenezer Sibley (1751 – 1799) The last of the really classic astrologers might be John Worsdale who died in 1828 or thereabouts. He wrote a book first published in 1799 titled “Celestial Philosophy,” which contains not a single word of philosophy, but has quite a few natal charts. This is not a beginner’s book. In fact it is quite technical in nature.
There are two modern history books that may interest you and you might find on ABE Books cheap. These are histories of that period and both are written by Patrick Curry. The first is “Prophecy and Power.” This is more scholarly and is actually Curry’s PhD thesis. It covers the period from William Lilly (1602 – 1681) to about 1800. He describes what may have been a high point of astrology’s influence in the 17th century to, if not its death, at least to a period of life support. His next work, more anecdotal and far more entertaining is titled “A Confusion of Prophets” and covers the period between 1800 and the death of Alan Leo in I think 1917. These are must reads for those interested in astrology’s history in English speaking countries.

Look up on Google there’s many descriptions on what Virgo’s are like. I’m a virgo.. and im patient, caring, sensitive to people’s needs, pessimistic. I love helping people, i like to feel needed/wanted and of help to someone. I’m a quick thinker and very detailed and thorough in what i say. I make a big deal out of all small issues, and worry alot.. and get all confused and stressed. I am very good at analyzing, i love it, and comes so naturally n easy for me.. this includes, people, situations, problems, clothes and whatever else. I find faults in alot of things.. rather than appreciating and having an overall bright positive outlook on things like a Leo would.
Virgo’s love matches apparently : Taurus, Capricorn, Scorpio and Cancer.
The reason why it’s those signs is because their earth & water… which means emotional, stable, reliable, caring, loving etc.
Virgo’s not so good matches are: Leo, Aries, Sagittarius, Gemini, Aquarius.
The reason is cos these are fire & air signs… and their more flighty, outgoing, boastful, aggressive, fast-paced, blunt.
I dunno about other Virgo’s but i personally prefer people who are deep, and are caring, sensitive, loving and are easy to talk to and wont be blunt/mean. Just feels like i can be more myself and they’d understand me. Fire & air signs annoy me or intimidate me.. plus they always see me as boring, or too quiet or too emotional. Whereas earth & water signs see me as funny, caring, loving, understanding and trustworthy. Do you see what i mean?
It doesn’t mean you can’t get along with all the signs though.. it all depends on the person. There’s different personalities to everyone and some traits i admire in others, but i won’t get along with them. Or i’ll get along great with someone, but hate their traits.
Also on your planets eg. your moon, mercury, mars etc. http://www.0800-horoscope.com/birthchart.php This will give you a full analsys on the depths of your personality.. since there’s more to everyone than just 1 starsign. How we feel, how we communicate, what we appreciate etc.
