Has anyone read these astrology books? Were they accurate? Sextrology, and Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs.?
I was just wondering if they were accurate, or partially true if so what parts did you think were b.s., from personal experience.
Please don’t post if you aren’t interested in astrology…also don’t post that sun signs are b.s., that birth charts are needed, or that newspapers & magazines b.s., I just want your opinion on these books IF you have read them and if they were accurate. Thank You!

These books are, basically, crap. They get rave reviews, true… but they get them from (1) people who are not Astrologers, and/or (2) from magazine, newspaper, etc etc critics who, also, are not Astrologers.
What these books DON’T GET are accolades from ANY of the reputable Astrological organizations, (such as the AFA: American Federation of Astrologers; NCGR: National Council for Geocosmic Research, etc.), nor do they get praise from professional Astrologers.
Why? It’s simple… every Astrologer knows that ‘Sun-Sign Astrology’ is junk-astrology. And that’s exactly what these two books are: Sun-Sign Astrology… and not very accurate Sun-Sign Astrology at that, *sigh*.
When I read these books, I was aghast… because Astrology is over-simplified to the point of uselessness in these books. Yet, I could see the appeal to the ‘masses’. After all, Sun-Sign Astrology is not complicated. Thus, one doesn’t have to ‘strain their brain’ too much. However, Sun-Sign Astrology is to Real Astrology what Arithmetic is to Physics, *lol*. If you think Einstein got to E=MC2 by studying Arithmetic, well, then, these books are for you.
And yet… everyone’s gotta start somewhere. So, the best thing I can say about these books is that they SHOULD serve to whet one’s appetite for Astrology, thus, driving one to go deeper. But, if you think you can read these books and have even a remote handle on Astrology, think again.
ASTROLOGY IS COMPLEX. There are 10 Planets, 12 Signs, 12 Houses, Nodes, Eclipses, Arabic Parts, Mid-Points, Fixed Stars, Solstice Points, Retrogrades, Interceptions, Parallels of Declination, Mutual Receptions / Applications, the Azimene / Critical / Hylegiacal Degrees, Asteroids, all the Aspects to consider, and on and on. NO ONE can be summed-up by a Sun Sign. And that’s just the Natal Chart! (the snapshot of your birth)
Then we’ve got Transits, Progressions, Age Arcs, Solar Arcs, etc. to apply in order to read the ‘now’ and ‘future’ of the Natal Chart.
Tell me, have you EVER seen any of this addressed in the daily ‘Horoscope-section’ of the newspaper? In the monthly ‘Horoscope-section’ of a magazine? No, you haven’t, because those publications only use Sun-Sign Astrology. And yet, as every Astrologer knows, it’s the ‘Moon’ that is the harbinger of ‘change’, the predictor of what’s ‘coming-to-pass’… not the ‘Sun’… hence, why their ‘so-called’ predictions of how your ‘day’ or ‘month’ is gonna go are so utterly and decisively inaccurate… and, in the end, give ‘Astrology’ a bad name.
Why do they do it? They do it for the same reason every cretenous writer on any subject does—> for the money. Sun-Sign Astrology is what the publication wants and is willing to pay for… never-mind that it’s b.s., never-mind that it’s inaccurate, never-mind that it gives people a false-sense of what Astrology really is and can do for them… such writing pays the bills, and so, the writers deliver this nonsense. They’ve sold their soul to mammon! *LOL*
Here are a few books I can highly recommend when it comes to sex and relationships in Astrology:
‘Love Formulas- 2’ by Nance McCullough (the absolute best book on Synastry Charting): http://www.astroamerica.com/relate3.html#m80
‘Skymates- Love, Sex & Evolutionary Astrology’ by Jodie & Steven Forrest (Synastry Charting): http://www.astroamerica.com/relate.html#f25
‘Skymates II: The Composite Chart’ by Jodie & Steven Forrest (Composite Charting): http://www.astroamerica.com/relate.html#f39
‘Prediction Techniques Regarding Romance’ by Ana Ruiz: http://www.astroamerica.com/relate4.html#r22
‘Astrology & Sex’ by Vivian Robson: http://www.astroamerica.com/relate.html#r26
‘Sex & the Outer Planets’ by Barbara Watters: http://www.astroamerica.com/essays3.html#sex & the outer planets
If you’re truly interested in learning Astrology, take the correspondence course from the AFA, (American Federation of Astrologers). It’s inexpensive, and you can pay-as-you-go. http://www.astrologers.com/learn-astrology/learn-astrology/

Astrology that uses just the signs .. is garbage astrology.
Linda Goodman has some insights into the nature of the zodiac signs, but an individual has all 12 signs in their chart, 10 planets, 12 houses, and 10-20 aspects between the planets.
I remember ONE quote from Linda Goodman that added to my knowledge … her writing is not useless.
If you want to read about astrology, read Stephen Arroyo, Tracy Marks, Dane Rudhyar, Noel Tyl. Don’t waste time on the books you are asking about.
Using just A sign isn’t going to tell you anything important.
