Do you take Astrology seriously in your life?
The definition of Astrology that I find most agreeable is as follows…
Astrology is the study of the effects of planetary forces upon man. It is not fortune telling. It is one of the best methods for man to learn about who he is, where he came from and where he is going. Astrology reveals CHARACTER and character is destiny. If man can change his character, then man will have changed his destiny. The main uses of astrology are diagnosis of health and sickness, character analysis, vocational guidance, analysis of children’s horoscopes so as to give parents a better idea as to how best to raise their children, and analysis of the compatibilities between people.
Astrology does not show anything but tendencies. A man can rule his stars by exerting his will. If a man decides to flow with the tide of life, then the tendencies indicated in the birth chart will at some time have their effect. The one thing a birth chart does not show is the WILL of the individual and how he may exert it. The matter of exercising free will is left entirely up to the individual. The wise man rules his stars, the fool is ruled by them. Astrology forewarns and being forewarned, a man is thus forearmed to better cope with the struggles of life.

lol what, people still believe in that stuff
Answer by Joe
I don’t believe that the stars have predetermined my path, but just a general glance at the attributes of my zodiac tells me that I share most if not all of the personality quirks that t says are most predominant in my particular sign.
So I partly take it seriously. Enough to be intrigued, but not enough to buy into it wholly.

Yes. I also believe in God, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy!
I also believe magic is real, and that birthday wishes always come true!

I used to treat it all like most, with a scornful but semi-hopeful disdain and then I read one particular author/astrologists in-depth description of my sign, and the signs of family members who I know well and it blew me away.
But I don’t pay any more attention to it than I did before, I just think that there is something going on there that cannot be measured by ‘science’.

No I don’t, but there is more going on there than meets the eye of the average skeptic.

Compatibility is determined in astrology by synastry, the way ALL the placements in one natal chart interacts with the placements in another’s chart. So, you need to compare the time, place, and date of birth of you and the other person to really see what’s going on between them. It important to compare the degrees between the signs and planets of each chart also. Sun signs are notoriously unreliable for compatibility analysis, so you really do need to look at the aspects to tell.
If you want to create a Western chart, you can go to http://www.astro-software.com/cgi-bin/astro/comp2f and put in both birth dates. It will give you a compatibility analysis which is much more accurate and exact than anything sun sign based.
Very generally, good synastry includes a good connection (a trine or sextile) between on partner’s Mars and the other’s Venus, or compatibility between the partners’s Sun and Moon.
