Do you like the House cusp your Sun sign is in? Details! Why or why not?
Mine can be in either 8th or 9th. I like it in the 9th, I feel more at home with the Sagittarius cusp, because I’m not quiet, I’m a talker. (Scorpio’s are supposed to be more quiet.)
I’d love opinions from everyone on Horoscopes!
Tropical Placidus: My Cancer Sun is only in the 8th House but Mercury is in Cancer in 8th Tropical; Mercury is in Gemini Sidereally
Tropical Whole Sign, Equal Tropical, Koch, My Cancer Sun is in the 9th House, my mercury changes from Cancer to Gemini.

I am scorpio sun in the 9th house. I have interests like a Sagittarius person and am more outgoing/optimistic but I have intensity and depth like Scorpio. I don’t let stuff get to me to much but I could sting people. I do not like passive aggressive Scorpios though which is too much in my sign. Something’s I like about it such as I never give up on things love intense experiences etc however I hate the negative either vengeful or suppressive Scorpios. I get along with Sagittarius people quite well and other Scorpios too if they are not paranoid or negative.
The one thing I am not a fan of is how Scorpio pluto manifests so often in my generation. I like to take the high road and be optimistic not overly agressive negative or suspicious

I am sorry, but your Sun can NOT be in EITHER the 8th or 9th house. It is in one or the other, and if there is any question as to which it is, see if you can find a more-accurate birth time to use for calculating your chart.
You see .. you read the chart as it is. You don’t go making things up of changing things because you like it better some other way.
We professional astrologers .. those of us who belong to professional astrology organizations .. have to sign a Code of Ethics that we will read ONLY the chart as it IS.
After all .. if you are not going to read the chart as it is, why even bother doing your chart? Just make up whatever you want instead.
The “house cusp” is the exact degree:minute of a sign that the house starts at. You cannot have a planet in a house cusp, although a planet CAN be exactly ON that house cusp, of even close to that house cusp.
You are probably talking about what house the Sun is in.
Sun represents our need to like ourselves, the sign Sun is in shows the style of behaviors that help us learn to like ourselves, and the house that Sun is in shows where we look, in life, to find our self-esteem.
I love having my Sun in the 8th house. Everything good in my life has come from self-growth, and Sun in the 8th seeks self-growth (or they seek self-destruction .. one of the two. Depends a lot of what aspects Sun makes with other planets in the chart).
Also, when astrologers talk about your Sun, they talk about your Sun.
You ARE your Sun (and the other 9 planets too) .. each planet represents a different part of your personality, and the sign is only a general style for that part of your personality.
So we don’t talk about “your Sun sign” .. we talk about “your Sun”.
A minor point, but the implications are huge.

I disagree with Been There on this subject. Yes your planets *could* be in either one or the other depending on what house system you are using. I use Equal house, the oldest and most reliable, rather than simply the default on astro.com of placidus.
planets conjunct a house cusp
Being quiet and not a talker has *nothing* to do with your sun being in the 8th OR 9th. Its about your mercury/communications, by sign/house/aspects.
Here are my Personal home made slides to show and explain matters
This slide shows the meanings of the planets
this slide shows the natural house rulers & house meanings, and notice the compass points are reversed? this is not a mistake
Planets in SIGNS are not islands and cannot function alone (unless unaspected of course). Just remember planets are modified by signs, where they express are houses and HOW they express are mathematical aspects. So any planet/s can be afflicted by generational/malefic planets like Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and this would seriously modify how the planet would function.
So planets in signs (so often asked about on here) means very little, its *MORE IMPORTANT* to research the mathematical aspects as to how a planet expresses. For example any planet can be helped by a soft aspects (sextile 60’ and trine 120’) from the great benefic Jupiter.
So planets IN signs tell you *didly squat* and all you will ever get is generic cook book interpretations. So if that’s ALL you want, superficial cook book then be my
What astrology does is it breaks things down, compartmentalises them into small chunks for you to understand as we are ALL multifaceted human beings. These aspects are the *meat and muscle on the bones* of astrology. Planets do not act alone as if an island, they interact with each other. Please consider posting your circular chart picture, rather than just little bits of data.
Whilst the whole chart needs to be taken into consideration, if this is the level you can manage or understand now, that’s ok. Just keep asking questions and that way the ‘whole’ chart will someday make much more sense. Everyone has to start somewhere and I applaud and encourage you for taking these baby steps.
