Answer by mindtweak
No, horoscopes tend to be written in such a way as to allow you to apply it to a wide variety of situations. Thus making them sound like they are telling you about things that are happening in your life, but really you are just fitting what it is telling you to what your life is like.

In the end they are too general and vague to be of much use.

Now i do find horoscopes to be overall insightful about certain general aspects of the human condition, and tend to be a good daily reminder to be a nicer and more loving person.

Hi. Supposedly if you were born with a constellation over head such as Taurus (the bull) you have a tendency to be bull-like.

Answer by michael s
You need to understand that horoscopes are nonsense. The ridiculously small gravitational forces from objects many light years away will have no influence on you at all.

Sorry….astronomy and astrology are..(forgive the pun)……worlds apart!

astrology has no more basis in fact than a fortune teller…and neither have any factual basis whatsoever.

No, they are all fake and made up. The reason they seem to work is that you will trigger on most anything in there that seems relavant and ignore those that don’t.

no…they are just EXTREMELY generic messages that could apply to anyone on any day

Isaac Asimov, noted science fiction author, whose I.Q. was so high that it could not be measured, wrote a series of essays called “The Stars in Their Courses”. In one essay, he addressed Astrology. It seems that the Zodiac is based on stars that have shifted positions since its inception. Now, of course, everyone has a different Zodiac sign, but they have yet to be assigned to compensate for the reality of Astronomy.

So, all this time, you thought you were an Aries, and it turns out you’re a Pisces instead. Fortunately, this little-known factoid hasn’t slowed the industry down one iota.

Mine is freakishly accurate. And it’s the specifics that scare me most, not the generalizations that most anyone can relate too. There is most definitely a mystical undertow to life.

What is real and I found about them few days ago is how zodiac signs are divided and assigned to each person. Search the web and see that every person falls under a zodiac sign let’s say pisces for an example. people here are highly imaginative and creative and you’ll find that people that fall under this category are really that way.

But nope….no one can predict the future only have clues ;-)

I don’t believe in Western astrology. If you’re born a day or two before or after one sign, the projection could apply to you as well as your own sign. Each astrologer seems to have their own network of stars that give conflicting advice.

Chinese astrology, however is fascinating. I’ve read my characteristics and they are so accurate it’s eerie. The same goes for friends and families–the descriptions of that particular year could have been written about any one of them–or me. It’s much more complex since it takes into account whether you’re air, water, fire. It describes you from childhood on up.

Normally I don’t believe in this kind of hocus-pocus nonsense, but I have to admit, I’ve been intriuged by the year to year projections made. Even going from one book to another by different authors, the information is consistent.

Its a superstition. The day you were born, corresponds with with the highest constellation in the ecliptic that night.

Truly, astronomy & astrology are ‘worlds apart’ these dayz. But they began as being one, though that was a few thousands years ago!
Now both the horoscopes that one may read abundantly here and there (daily, weekly etc and which have a bad reputation) as well as the ones that may be cast by a sound astrologer, are based upon the movement of the sun -mainly-, but also of the moon, and the other planets as well; now, they are being strongly opposed by ‘scientists’ because even though they are mainly based upon the same movements & rotation of the planets of our solar system (that scientists do, too) ~astrologers interpret these movements in how they can affect us, in a more psychological manner.

I want to take no sides, but just pose a q. that I have since early school years :
The influence that we get from the moon (see plant-world.. even on the lunatics etc), as well as from the sun (except all else, see also its effect of sunspots on telecommunications) is scientifically proven & fully accepted!
Then, why to feel that it is so strange and un-accepted that we may also be influenced by other bodies of solar system?

Hope you got all help you need :)
